These blogs are moving further apart each time aren't they? Or is it just some kind of optical illusion? Hmmmm...
Anyway part of the reason for my lack of updates is I've settled into such a routine it'd seem boring to tell ya'll about it. Plus September played tricks with me because I'm sure there were only about six days in it. I would wake up on Monday morning/afternoon thinking how little I wanted to educate and then all of a sudden I was sat outside 7-11 with a beer in my hand on Friday evening. So you can say that much for the little blighters-they make time quite literally fly.
So I'm bringing you this particular blog because I've just returned from the wonderfully insane city of Shanghai. Myself, Aidan and Ris spent four days seein the sights, dodging millions of Chinese peeps and, of course, enjoying the nightlife on offer. Highlights were using the fastest train in the world-the 'maglev', which goes a pretty speedy 430kph. Staying in the Radisson hotel for a night and having drinks on the 47th floor. Going up the 4th tallest building in the world, the Jin Mao tower, and watching a smoggy dusk over the city. I certainly enjoyed seeing some architecture that dates back before 1960 as well after looking at the endless rows of apartment blocks in Korea. It was really quite cheap as well as long as you avoided the restaurants with tourist menus. We managed to find some good grub which for the three of us came to a fiver. The only issue I had with the place was the hundreds of hawkers that prowled the streets. They'd begin with an innocuous "hello friend, you want watch? Bag? Trainers?" and would then move onto "massage?" and of course end with something the wrong side of wholesome. Our only thought was what kind of a place would hold all of these goods and amenities?
Right will leave you with a few pictures to give you a taster. Will upload the rest as soon as I have the time or inclination.
Ta Ta peeps. Stay shiny x
